When you accelerate the sprocket carrier can deflect causing chain misalignment (rough!). So the roughness that you feel is not really the rough bearing but the chain misalignment which the rooted bearing has allowed.
At least that's what I found with my bike. Also, if you ride it like that for ages ...

Nah, it needs some USD forks. And some cams. If you're worried about resale......don't buy bikes.

Re: 500 2 strokes
I think the Bimota V due shenanigans made motorcycle consumers a bit cautious about the injected 2 strokes? That was back in the 90's though. I think some of the MX development might be going back in that direction.

I really want to see this thing finished.
Looks cool. Glad you got that oil leak fixed.....it was a shocker. That whole 18" rear thing sux! Did any other kwakas have a 17x4 rear? Maybe a zxr400, or the Balius? Just a thought.

Re: 500 2 strokes
I miss the 500 2 strokes too, but I think it's more because of nostalgia than any technical reasons. It reminds me of days when I was younger.....and therefore faster, smarter, tougher, etc.
I keep hearing that the racing was closer, but I remember seeing Mick Doohan walking away with win after win ...

Re: ZXR250A Fork seal replacement
My manual has slightly different numbers to that. It doesn't say if it's for an A or a C or whatever though. So you may have more accurate info than me.
mine says approx 365ml or 85mm +/-2mm
or 430ml when completely dry.
Sorry if that confuses more than helps. I ended up with about 460ml in mine ...

Re: Trying a new battery
Those prices are pretty good for an "off the shelf" LiFePO.
If your really tight like me though......
I just made my own lithium battery. You can buy the cells off Ebay pretty cheap occaisionally. I got 12 Cells for $70 incl shipping. Used 8 in the road bike, and 4 in the track bike. Had the roady ...

Re: Make Noise for Marco
Just fire up your bike this Sunday at 10:30 your local time, wherever you are, and rev it for 58 seconds.
The idea is to create a sort of global mexican wave of bikes revving.

I hope everyone is getting in on this!
I rekon it's an awesome tribute. I'll certainly be doing my bit at 10:30 sunday morning.
Tell everyone to get in on it, there's a facebook group etc. just google "make noise for Marco sunday" and you'll get the idea of it.

Re: The Rarest Kawasaki Naked?
Got to another trackday!
Went better this time.....probably because it was dry! Did a 2:07 which is ok. Still rekon there's a couple more seconds out of it yet though. Dropped 2 teeth off the back which turned out to be too much, as it wouldn't pull 6th down the straight anymore. So topped out ...
