ZX9R carb interchangeablity question
Hi... I have a ZX9R B engine which I am fitting to a 1991 ZXR750 frame... all going well so far, but I need carbs for the 900 engine (which will be bored to take a Wiseco 950cc kit) . Does anyone here know if ZX9R C series carbs fit ZX9R B series engines? Alternatively, I have a set of 1996 ZX7R ...

Fork bush/seal installation tool?
I'm at the stage where I need a 43mm bush/seal installation tool to continue the reassembly of the forks from my 1996 ZX7R project bike.... short of buying one from oversea's & paying more than the tool cost in postage... does anyone here know of a better local alternative?

Re: ZXR750 rebuild #3
Guy said it was rusty but the cap lock has seized up so no chance of opening it yet!
I had the same problem with the tank lock on my 1991 ZXR750 which had suffered a couple of years unplanned storage/lack of use.
I tried everything I could think of to loosen the lock.... turning the tank upside ...

Loose rivnut in frame?
I have a loose rivnut (also called a nutsert) in the frame of my ZX7R project.... it's one of the two fuel tank forward mounting bolt rivnuts & is so loose that when I try & screw in the bolt it starts rotating the rivnut after only a thread or two.
I don't know how they installed (probably ...

Re: ZX7R MINI MAKEOVER BEGINS!
Good to see one without large quantities of tacky E-bay anodised bolt on bits added
I could not agree more to the above!
You're doing a great job & should be congratulated.... it's looking fantastic.
How much was the OEM screen may I ask?.... I didn't think they were available anywhere anymore ...

Re: Flatslide carb query for any experts out there?
Yes... thanks, that is interesting. What I am calling a check valve they are calling a leak jet.
In my case, I don't have what looks like a leak jet (with an orifice) but rather a square nylon looking thing that appears pressed into the circular passage from the float bowl to the accelerator pump ...

Flatslide carb query for any experts out there?
Hello all.
I have a question that I'm hoping some expert out there can answer regarding the 39mm Keihin FCR Flatslides that I have fitted to my ZXR750?
The long story very much shortened is that one of the twin accelerator pump fuel one-way check valves isn't blocking return fuel flow back into ...

Re: ZXR750 fuel pumps?
Just found my ZX7R P1 pump... it has an 8mm ID inlet/outlet compared to the ZXR (H,J,K) pump I have which has 5.5mm ID inlet/outlets.

Re: ZXR750 fuel pumps?
I need to change the pump now, I've already had it apart once before & although the solenoid works well, the seals are now pretty ordinary.. so I just don't want to take a chance with it.
I was just interested to know if anyone knew if the later types were better in any way? I should have a ZX7R P1 ...

ZXR750 fuel pumps?
Ok.. these things (fuel pumps) seem to be one of the few things on a ZXR that will let you down when you least want it.
I've found that there exists a healthy supply of non OEM fuel pumps available, obviously due to demand.. this is good because it seems I need a new one.
The question I now have ...

Re: Brake disc grinding?
G'day guys... thanks for the info, I didn't know disc grinding was so difficult to get done?
I recall getting a ZXR750J rear disc machined by a guy working out of his garage in Revesby around 15 years ago, I think he advertised somewhere back then?
Have found some links to a guy (Ripperton) who ...

ZXR750 K1 engine No. prefix???
Can anybody here shed any light on what the original ZXR750 K1 engine number prefix might be?
I know from experience that the standard J model ZXR's had (in Australia) a J in the engine number, but I don't know about the rarer K1 model engine numbers?
