ZX7R MINI MAKEOVER BEGINS!

Post by Jimmy82 »

Thought I would share some pictures of my ZX7R restoration that I am doing... The bike is very tidy already and original other than exhaust,
however its my pride and joy so it's getting a mini makeover!

What do you guys think?

I have ordered the following genuine parts, not because there damaged but to freshin it up..

Clear screen
Rearsets
Chain & sprocket set ( fitting now )
Air intake covers
Grips
Levers
Labels ( all the original chain guard and tank decals that usually get ripped off )
Mirrors
Indicators
Bar ends

Have just finished respraying the wheels, had some minor stone chips that bugged me..

All the fairing are immaculate, I am changing the front fender with a new genuine Kawasaki
fender as the previous owner had damaged it with the disc lock and it has some minor cracks and it
just bugs me knowing they are there.

Very nice these are still my favourite Kawasaki model

Good to see one without large quantities of tacky E-bay anodised bolt on bits added

Good Job

I could not agree more to the above!

You're doing a great job & should be congratulated.... it's looking fantastic.

How much was the OEM screen may I ask?.... I didn't think they were available anywhere anymore??... you don't even see 2nd hand OEM screens anymore.

Nice work mate. Its always good to see a really well looked after older bike. She'll be a head turner.

Thanks Glen.

I also have the stock exhaust, bought a complete new genuine system ( Headers , muffler all brackets & bolts ).. just not sure if I should
put it on... I did quickly fit it but it seemed to be so restricted and ran a little funny with it..
It has a full yoshi system on it and has been jetted to suit, would need to get it redone I guess
if I put the stock system on it.

I did wan't it to be 100 % stock , it is less the exhaust at the moment..

What do you guys think ??? Should I put it on or leave it hanging on the wall.

Hi Jason, the screen was x japan..
Took about 5 weeks to get it, it retails at $ 265.02 , I paid $ 238 from a dealer in Canberra.

The original screen I had was in good condition for its age, had some minor cracking from sun / uv I guess.. the new screen made such a difference.
