Poor buggers, good luck to them as it'd be flipping cold out there at night.
i know it's a bit of an "i told you so" but a gps would be frickin useful for them, even one of those simple ones you get off ebay for $130 that have trail tracking capability would be an immense help offroad. It's a bit nerdish but i always take mine (with road mapping capabilities) out with me when i go on a long ride, even if i know the road, who knows wtf will happen.

These two showed up safe and sound yesterday morning
They did try to call for help on mobiles but their phone wnet flat 
Mike Police made that statement after the 2 where found that they spent $5,000 on a bike $1,000 on riding gear and for anther $500 could have got a GPS and saved this from happening.
