zx6r 05 6000k service needed.

Post by PixelPaul »

hay guys and girls.
Coming up to 6000Ks and gona get it serviced but do u recon it worth forking out the money to get it properly done by a kawa dealer cos looking in the manual it is just saying basic stuff like brakes and oil and so on.. but the guy i bought it from said i should but i dono if i should bother spending the extra money when i can do these myself, unless they do more at the 6K service.

any insight would be great. cheers.

you gota use geninue parts to keep the warranty, and be performed by a qualified mechanic too

otherwise they would love to say just about anthing to void ur warranty! :?

It's a bit of a hike but you should try Richard at Narellan Kawasaki...

I did mine a couple of months back and it cost under $200 bucks. I'ts not worth doing it yourself. I'm up for the 12K service soon which is a lil bit more expensive cause they do the valves and stuff...

I'm still on my original rear tyre. It's not right is it..... walk.gif

I had mine done by pro tune, a mobile motorcycle mechanic out this way.
Nice guy, reasonably priced and you can watch him do the work...

There isn't really any parts to change other than oil and filter at 6000ks and you do not have to have your bike serviced by a Kawi dealer to keep the warranty...

mate no valve crap @ the 12k service ;) Had mine done..... 3k km ago ;) pretty much the same as the 6k in $$$ I think the next one @ 18k will be a bit pricier though!

I'd always reccomend getting it serviced by kwaka till your warranty runs out.....

Naah, the manufacturer can only do a warranty on a bike that has been looked after, therefore it needs to be a genuine kwaka dealer to keep the warranty intact... because they are supposed to know how to repair a kwaka.

Imagine if you sold someone a washing machine and then got it serviced by some dickwad hippy..... You wouldnt be happy with him coming back to you asking to have something replaced ..... makes sense really...
The world is round. It has no point.
