zx6/10 led backlight mod
hi,
has anyone done the led backlight mod for their zx6 or 10?
if so, where did you get the surface mount LEDs from?
i'm after blue ones and can only find red or green locally.
thanks in advance.

aaah gotchya! The mention of surface mounts is what threw me....
Nah dunno mate...... there are some ppl in the states that do it, but it would mean being without the dash for a while!
although you may be able to get a cheap one of a wrecked bike or e-bay, and have that one done....... prob lies with the odometer then..... or you could use it as an interim til you get yours back, then switch them back and sell it on ebay again......

That mod involves removing and replacing the LEDS.ZX-10R_04 wrote:yes i think as in THIS
Does anyone know if simply placing a tinted film/plastic between the LEDs & the gauge will work?
In this pic, you can see the little square holes in the back of the gauge, for the LEDS. What if you just covered these with the appropriate color? (in my case, red)
