insurance
i made a few calls today to insurance companys and i found that the cheapest on was NRMA insurance for my zzr600 comprehensive insurance was 574 bucks including a free windscreen i asked shannons but they wouldnt even give me the time of day because i had not had bike insurance before and was not a member of any bike clubs so for any one wanting insurance try NRMA.

very strange - for my zzr600 they wanted $2000 with a maximum NCB, for the ZX9R they wanted $2500
I would've said don't go near NRMA with a barge pole.
I'm with Swann - $810

Got my renewal from Shannons today.
It was about $670 to insure my zx10r last year, 2 months after I took out the policy, down we went..
I was expecting a massive rise this time round, but it only went up $200...
I'll stick with em, especially as the claim was trouble free..

i have a list of insuance companies at work that u can try for quotes, will post it up in the morning.
but i was quoted on my ZZR600 full comprehensive $430 - with Western QBE!! per year, but im 25yrs old.
main things that affect the price is the postcode and where its garaged.. along with the standard NCB, claims history and traffic offences..

yeah thats true.. but also - depends on the person ur dealing with as well on the phone ( a total noob in training or a grumpy old man)SenNey wrote:I also found a cruiser is cheaper to insure of a sportsbike.
plus varying factors
age, sex, postcode, licence details, traffic offences, insurance history, mods on the bike, where it will be kept the list is endless.
Being over the age of 28 helps a great deal.
(working as an insurance broker) i'd strongly suggest u go with a direct insurance company that specialises in insuring bikes too (and plus u want to avoid paying the broker fee and commissions too) .. direct insurers - like Arista and Western QBE - have policies made for riders - covering ur riding gear etc.
