Z750 Hurt :'( *Pic page 2*
Z750 Hurt :'( *Pic page 2*
So, was in a little incident tonight involving a car, myself, my bike, and a pillion.
In a nutshell, car pulled out on a really stupidly tight hairpin (stupid camber on road too), i grabbed every brake i could, pillion panicked and moved in her seat to avoid the car. I went to put my foot down on the left, but she grabbed me and pulled me to the right where there was no ground (ground slopes away).
Just so happened that where we stopped sloped away to the right, so i had nowhere to put my foot - and down we went.
Damage is front brake lever, engine cover scratch, and a few other misc scratches. Rearset is also broken
Can someone help me out with sourcing/removing/replacing rear set/brake lever and indicator?
Tah.

What a bugger Ant, glad to see neither of you were hurt though. Replacement indicators are only about $25 for four from any motorcycle shop, and you can get bling-bling clear ones. Brake lever and rear set, check out your local motorcycle wreckers, they will have them for pretty cheap. Good luck!
Cheers,
Anne

Im Southside at the moment.
I also forget to add, that the lady who pulled out in front of me failed to stop and drove off, witnessed the whole thing too.
Should I make a claim and forward it to her, or just fix it myself?
Would/could she be found liable? I have all her details, car, make etc as it was outside her house, and we waited for her to cmoe back.
She denied she saw anything.

If a car does that your better off to kick the car, if they pull outon you and you miss them and fall off they tend to diasapear.
If you have the details have a go at a claim just depends on how much damage and what your excess is and what your new premium will be like though the way insurance companies are I wouldnt bother looking after your rating too much if it hikes just move on.
If you can do a tempory fix that works ebay is your friend for pegs and peg hangers and engine covers it has worked out at half price for new parts for me.
Hope you and your girl are okay nothing worse than twisted ankles and missing skin.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Im contemplating not going through insurance - it's expensive enough as is.
Also means that now i have an excuse to get some aftermarket goodies.
Oh, the pipe has a scratch on it - NEW PIPE. hehe.
So, my main concern at this stage is sourcing a r/h rear set for my bike, as well as a front brake lever.
I NEED these asap to get back on the road.
Then, I need
- Handlebar Slider
- Engine Cover
- New Pipe
Any ideas what thses are worth?

Ant what you need to know is if the peghanger is generic as in fits a number of diferent models of kawasaki that makes it easier to find on ebay or at a wreckers.
Is the rearset buggered or just needs a peghanger to sort it for the time being??
The last peghanger I bought was $140 and the peg was 90 bucks without the feeler in it and they are made of cheese i have broken 3 of them.
Paid 110 bucks US for a engine cover and they wanted well over 200au for one local.
Dont think a brake /clutch lever would be too much.
go and have a chat to Tanya at pro kawasaki she will see you right.

yeh cool I have been there before but only relaced the footpeg and hanger and panelbeated the rest of it and it worked out fine, but if yours are well muched you might want to look at the price of aftermarket rearsets and oggie knobs just depends on whats happened.

Mine's completely sheared off - crash knobs were supposed to go on on MondayBarrabob wrote:yeh cool I have been there before but only relaced the footpeg and hanger and panelbeated the rest of it and it worked out fine, but if yours are well muched you might want to look at the price of aftermarket rearsets and oggie knobs just depends on whats happened.

If you look at the below pic, up the top the red line indicates where it has SHEARED off.

yep used to be whales kawasaki now its pro kawasaki, can you try to take a picture of the missing bit, even if its snapped off the fram you can unbolt the lever and reatach it to the new peghanger of course the whole thing may be mangled beyond repair and i havnt seen a z750 recently the last one i saw was poping a wheelie at the lights while i was out working.
Do you have msn??

Ant, if you are anywhere near Woolloongabba, Brisbane Bike Wreckers carry a good range of stock, if you give them a call they may have a part that you are after, esp the generic parts like the rearset.
