Hemiduty says:

Hemiduty says:
wont last, but hey i am leading a champiosnhip for the first time in my life
sully says:
with the extra drag practice even better expectations
Hemiduty says:
well, better starts should help with better finishes yeah. but there are going to be some really fast people at the next meeting, and the long track will hurt me time wise compared to the short track
sully says:
u r so consistant just keep on finishing
Hemiduty says:
that is the plan man
sully says:
++++ more rode rides
sully says:
sorry road
Hemiduty says:

Hemiduty says:

Hemiduty says:

Hemiduty says:
but i figure if i get some results and chase them i might snag one
Hemiduty says:
actually i should start now, while i am winning!!
sully says:
yes give them positives works well
Hemiduty says:
any idea where to start? i just dunno how to go about it. the bike shops already have their gyus
sully says:
sell them a package that they will sponsor ask mik at goodna
sully says:
try tyres for bikes at blacksoil
Hemiduty says:
yeah should do
sully says:
set up a web site showing you progress or a blog advertise at a targeted market
Hemiduty says:
targeted market?
sully says:
there are ways to get top hits on a web through google etc to show u r getting inquiries on your site and sell space on it just a thought
sully says:
space = tyres
Hemiduty says:
yeah not a bad idea. will have to work it out, something like that could work.
Hemiduty says:
yep
sully says:
ask for some help from the gurus at ksrc
sully says:
its easy for them and top results
sully says:

Hemiduty says:
yeah, might do that. do not want to seem like i am trying to get something for nothing though
sully says:
its the marketing way ask around we all want to support in our own way
sully says:
plus if some one want to advertise the web skills its a win /win situation
Hemiduty says:
yeah could be a goer man
sully says:
if u don't post it up I will
sully says:
live ur dream and do every thing possible to get there
Hemiduty says:
hahahaha well that is good, coz i think i am too chicken to post it up...
Hemiduty says:
yeah for sure man. only thing is at 28 i am no spring chicken, i think i left it all too late.
sully says:
and on the site the average age is **+ regretting wat they missed out on and only to willing to help achieve wat they couldnt for sum that have the talent
Hemiduty says:
yeah true. yeah well it sure would help to have decent tyres on the thing

If any of our member can offer assistance PM hemiduty to assist or advise best course

There are plenty of ways to get free stuff.

Might be worth the effort to figure out which tyres you want and start researching who the reps are, and see if you can't snag some kind of sponsorship that way. Keep it simple in the beginning, basically just ask for tyres first up (no cash!) and specify what your requirements would be ie 1 set every 2 meets, or whatever.

And then what you'll do for them - plaster your bike with their name/logo and so on.

What they want to know is:
  • How much it will cost them.
What kind of exposure they get.
What kind of spokesperson/image you can provide their company
It will involve a lot of knocking on doors, and presenting yourself as best you can. Do up a "CV" showing how you've progressed. TIP: people like to see graphs, even if they don't exactly know what they mean...but generally if the line goes up = good, line goes down = bad...

Perhaps he can get a website with his info etc
And have a paypal donation button?
That way people can donate fund to put towards his racing.
Yes i know a sponsor is needed for the long run

Ask BC components they have old race tyres dirst cheap. Maybe they will donate them?

Hmm r1 eats a set of bridgestone slicks at the rate of 1 set per meeting @ $450 a set ( yes they seem to disolve) this is only part of the cost but if nothing blows up or falls off this is one of the major costs.

I think valenteeno went out on second hand slicks last gp and see what happened. :D

I know its a pain drmsby but you may have to go and hang your head in a few doors, probably the ones who sell tyres although we only use micks and ask around because most of those bikes have stickers not sponsers and I have known other blokes in other forms of racing(drags) who where into me when I was running a buisness looking for sponsership.

Could do a website and make it pop appear under a few categories and go the paypal....not thinking of haveing a thresome anytime soon. :D
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

The important thing is this is going to need the personal touch.

Pretend like you are going for a corporate job (which is sort of the right way to think about sponsorship), and think big. Local tyre places might be OK, but try your luck with the main distributors as well.

For example,
this link might give you somewhere to start. It is basically the same as getting a job, you only have to find one person that takes a shine to you...the tyres don't cost them $450 per set, so that wont be the killer...they just need to want to give you stuff, rather than make you pay for it. Plead your case and tell them you have a real shot, but it is the tyres letting you down...

if he was on a kwaka we could plaster it with ksrc stickers..then if 200 of us all put it $2 each, we could cover his tyres & part of entry fee and help...hehe...then again if every one of our members gave me $5 then i could get myself that new kwaka..maybe a z1000 (keeping in mind id be able to sell my bike, and make up the difference, but $5k would be nice)
