just received some mail on the next Ride n Thrive day being held by local MRA branch, in conjunctionwith H.A.R.T.
"After the succesful running of the first 2 courses, HART in conjunction with MRA ACT are conducting the next 2 courses in early May 2006.
Many of us can ride and stop and do all sorts of clever things on our mortorcycles, yet how many of us can say we've never been surprised, or gee that was close I'm glad I could stop in time....
We all practice our emergency skills regularly (don't we), but wouldn't you rather not be putting you in a position that needs them in anger ?
Ride n Thrive provides 8 hours of on-road real life practice at Looking for Threats, Assessing the Risk, and Making Appropriate Proactive Avoidance Choices.
This is a subsidised course where you pay only 50% (or $90), and the MRA ACT pays the other 50% from the NRMA ACT Road Safety Trust - not too bad for 8 hours of training...."
If you are interested in any further info, please pm me for the flyer. The next course dates are 6th and 7th May 2006, and are not restricted to only ACT riders.
