Do we have to have these depressing "Biker down" threads every time that someone has an accident?

I mean, I am pretty sure we are all aware of our mortality.... and I surely sympathise with the family of the person who died.... but.... I dont wanna read about it every time...

unless its a member of this forum ofcourse...

I actually find it is good to have a constant reminder of the dangers we face, keeps you on your toes.

That's why i put it up, to make sure it *wasn't* a member from here.
I had absolutely no intent to put a bit of "doom & gloom" in the place at all.

GRO had a week long net discussion about the rider killed doing a wheelie on Windsor rd a couple of weeks ago, mainly because the media got hold of some comments the guy's dad made, twisted them(not surprisng); suddenly Paul Idiot Gibson (Staysafe committee) gets involved and starts calling for high powered bikes to be banned or limited to racetracks (1000cc's and over).

Every time bike v's car the perception of the general population is that the bike rider was doing something stupid. We know its usually the car driver (unless its was the clown on the yellow ducati on the Firies ride....grrr  ).

Sympathy to that guys family.

Yes, enough of the rider down threads.
Do you read the NSW police website? Theres someone killed in a traffic accident every day, every second day its a motorcyclist.
Sucks, I know.

I'm with stereo. we don't need these threads.

and if it was someone from the club, they wouldn't have been replying to let you know it was them would they.

I have to agree with Stereo here, unless it's a member it's bad enough I get a constant reminder every time I am at the cemetary I've lost two brother in laws to bikes and this really just makes riding that little harder.

I'm with smek and stereo and lainie. Didn't we have this discussion a week or two ago when all those dead riders were being posted up? if I don't know them i don't care... Actually I usually just "don't care"

So post em if ya like, but it always seems to turn into a debate about "posting them up" and has very little to do with whoever it was that crashed.
If it was a member here I would probably feel something, and would want to know. But if that's the case I'm sure someone would "Know" and post it promptly.

<aybe the administrators of the site could start a Rider Down section. That way if we don;t want to rread about it we won't go into that section. If ya still go in and read about it, then we will "RELEASE THE HOUNDS" or Neka on to ya...... 8)
