Anyone use the Motorcycle Atlas

Post by chameleon »

That Hema one, and is it worth the money and the room it takes up? Or do we all just use a map when we travel :?:

Only briefly seen it but t is worth the money I reckon and the room it takes up is bugger all. Peter Thoeming does a fair bit of motorcycle riding and writing and is good at his shit.

All depends how far you are going and where for the highways and backroads its great but if you are crossing sydney for the first time you might want something with a bit more detail.

Yeh i bought a hema one and its a good size and worth packing.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Like him or hate him, "The Bear" is a touring legend, and I would love to get on the turps with him and discuss all those *good* roads - he has ridden 'em all........ :P

yeah I've got it.
Found it usefull when I went to ride the oxley. Thats all I needed as it has all the maps you need and info on the road itself and where the stops are etc. It looks to have about 50 top rides from around OZ.
Think I paid $40 or sumptin.
Well worth it if you leave town often.

Say no more! I saw one briefly at the servo out country today, this young dude from SYD was touring around with it and said it was excellent but I thought I'd get some second opinions from the team here. I'll go and get one tomorrow and add it to the gearsack 8)

Second edition with 100 maps has been out for a while now, figure i'll get one myself one day but gotta wait till i'm a bit more financial or I drink less, so the wait is the option :)

I agree with that, mine used to fit in the old tank bag nicely.

Yep, get one. I've had one for about 12 months and although they are a little large they are an awesome think to have, As i said they would be better a little smaller but then again if they were some of the detail would probably be lost.

Miss Felix's dad had one in his camping shop...he gave it to us...good book I reckon. And a bargain

We have a larger touring atlas which helps us in planning our big trip...but we will take the small atlas on the actual trip.
