Best Suspension Setup for 2000 ZX9R

Post by marty »

Anybody know what the best suspension setup is for the ZX9r? I have the manual and have set it to "factory default" but I wanted to know what others have found to work. All this suspension stuff seems like black magic to me!!!!!!

I don't think there is any magic setup numbers. The preload should be adjusted to suit your weight and riding style as can the compression and rebound.
As Gos suggested, do a search on the site as there has been a few posts about how to do this.

Yeah it's rare to have 2 bikes feel the same from the same settings let alone what riders need/like/want. There's been some great links found & posted here, it's not that scary to do just set your rider sag on the prelaod & play with one setting at a time after that. I Think Madkaw walked me through it over the phone the first time i did mine.

Thanks peoples,

Did a search and as you said there are some really great links!!! Think I will have to spend some quality time reading and then attack the beast. With the information I have gleaned so far I have managed to get the thing dialled in a little better (especialy the back) - just need to tweak the front a little more.

Thanks again , your legends.
