Official ZX14 power figures.... (Updated!)

Post by aardvark »

Could this be true?

Firstly:
http://www.motosport.ch/artikel_4941.html

Roughly translated from German:
The new Kawasaki ZZR 1400 will officially be 192 HP at 9500rpm according to Kawasaki Switzerland. Torque of 154 Nm (15.7 mkg). Blah blah blah something about the sportstourer being presented to journalists in March. The ZZR 1400 may not be released before April 2006.

Although the figures on the Kawasaki site are slightly different:
http://www.kawasaki.ch/fileadmin/pdf/ZZ-R_1400_D_F.pdf

(I have attached the pdf as a jpg below)

I reckon we'd be better off awaiting independent dyno figures

It's all pretty academic anyway as I'm sure it will be speed restricted 2 300.
Motorcycle's are inherently unstable...

Swiss francs 20,990 = roughly same price in Oz
although I see their tax is 7.5%, ours is 10%
so bike might be more here in Oz

brochure

Can anyone here read Japanese???

Hard to know if this is an actual review of the bike or just more "Young Machine" speculation, but it seems they are indicating a quarter mile time of 9.8 seconds )which isn't as quick as I would have expected).

On one page they have 190PS and on the next they have 200PS. Who knows....

There's also some guff about possible future models based on the ZX14.

I have these images a fair bit bigger than they are here for anyone that's interested, or for anyone that can translate.

fuck me! they look like absolute rippers of bikes.... especially the Z1400!!!! i hope they aint just photoshop jobs .... would be great if all 3 of those bikes came out... would be a great way to keep production costs down making them all on the same platform

prefer the idea of 200hp to 190 tho :P

This photo is taken of the spec board (which was attached to the number plate area of the bike) at the Finland motorcycle show.
