I agree with Lucas - the new paint scheme just looks a bit *tacky*, and is a copy of the 02? scheme that used 2-tone ??

Must admit though, I am a bit of a fan of good ole' plain black baby !!

That is certainly a nice looking machine...

Didn't the 02/03 models come out with the gold bits too? :?

Agreed, the black/gold a. makes it look like the older bike, and b. I think that color scheme is tacky.. makes the bike look like a hot wheels toy.

The blue and black from 05 were really cool :)

Yes the 02 12r . It had better paint , I had a 02 almost the same paint job now have 06 and i do not like the black swing arm and was more polished alum or silver on the 02.
But i like the smooth power down low on the new one

Yeah i saw one in the flesh the other day and to me it looked better than in the pics.
Lets just hope the black paint isnt as soft as shit like the 05`s black was.

  I think I have added about 4000 microns of polish to the clear coats !!!

The guys at the shop did mention that the clear coat was only *fairly* thin on the 05 models.......maybe thats it ??

Its only the black that has a problem, know a guy with the blue and its as good as.
Keep up as much polish as you can gos cause that paint wont last if you dont.
Mine wore through to bare plastic on the tank from leathers in no time. :(
The rear cowl scratchs very easy from jeans as you swing a leg over also and to top it off the bug guts are impossible to wash off the nose cone and trying to polish em out just seems to damage the paint more.

In saying all that the black looks shit hot :D and I miss mine

Cool , thanks for the tips Hammer, I do admit that when I first got it, the bloody thing was getting polished every weekend  , now its every 3 weeks  , I did bung on a GCC tank protector , and that has probably saved a lot of heartache with scratches......

Will keep the polish up ........( have scored a lot of stone chips on the fork legs from following Team Crim at *speed*.....  )
