I scored mine for $99 when first released on special at Toys R Us,
The rims on the number 42 are carbon fibre and the rims on the KX26 are alloy as the rear is slighly buckeled already but i guess for $99 its not meant for for jumping off sets of stairs and general thrashing.

I was thinking that it would be a fairly cheap bike, the brakes look like the flimsy things you get on a Huffy or BigW Dunlop special.

$99 isn't too bad when you consider the features your getting. My Apollo 12 speed was $320 in 1992, at least it has nice tig welding and alloy wheels. The brakes are much better on it compared the cheap of now.

Is it 18, 21 or 24 speed?
