maybe we r still in hicksville but we dont even have to do a course. you walk in pay $50, answer 15 question( dont have to get them all right) and you have your learners.
than go learn how to ride and book your test.
you can get your learners then the next day sit your test. pretty easy compared

The pre-learners course in NSW is designed to give you the skills to survive your first few weeks on the road. It is run over a weekend, two half day sessions, and is designed for people who have never ridden a bike before.
The day starts with you sitting on a non-running bike and being pushed around the range. In time you learn how to start the bike, use the gearbox and clutch, and negotiate basic turns. You are also trained in *very basic* roadcraft.
Having completed your pre-learners course you are eligible to sit a computer-based knowledge exam; the successful completion of both will earn you a learners permit.
More info available on the NSW RTA Website
