Interesting find. The bikes must have been stuck in 3rd!
I saw an article about a Maserati that can do 330kmh too, but it costs a squillion bucks. Amazing the lengths cagers go to beat something we can buy off the shelf for $20K.
I wonder what they'd think of their machine if they realised calling something a falcon isn't that special over here. We could put it up against the "Collingwood Commodore".

Actually, it's a geeky play on the Millennium Falcon...and a '74 Ford Falcon XB formerly from NSW sat decaying in my garage here in California for nearly three years, so I know all about how "unspecial" that name is down under.
Getting back to the M6, to seat five people at those speeds, you'd need five of those $20k bikes, so it works out to about the same. You could maybe cut it down to three bikes if you have somebody ballsy and very streamlined riding pillion on two of them.
Besides, somebody like myself that weighs in at 19 stone looks pretty silly on a crotch rocket, not to mention with the amount of drag my body generates, I'd need a $100k+ cage to hit those speeds.
Mind you, I have nothing against knee-draggers, I envy your acceleration.

You get a hell of lot more than just top speed with any big dollar supercar, If I had the choice of a $350k Porsche/Ferrari or $350 of bikes, I'd take the car without batting an eyelid.Mojo67 wrote:I saw an article about a Maserati that can do 330kmh too, but it costs a squillion bucks. I'd rather spend $350k on mods than buys a supercrappy car.

Ya may buy the $350k Porsche or Spagetti maker, but it don't change the fact that the $20k (possibly much cheaper) bike is gunna smoke ya!!!!7THSIN wrote:You get a hell of lot more than just top speed with any big dollar supercar, If I had the choice of a $350k Porsche/Ferrari or $350 of bikes, I'd take the car without batting an eyelid.Mojo67 wrote:I saw an article about a Maserati that can do 330kmh too, but it costs a squillion bucks. With bikes it's pretty much all about performance, no doubt about that.
But with the car you get the performance, plus the comfort, all the luxuries and the safety. It's much more of a package than a bike, who's main purpose is to be quick.
Dont get me wrong, I'd much rather spend a day at the track on a bike than in any car in the world.
On a freezing cold winter night, touring through the hills, I'd take the Porsche without thinking twice, put the heater on, some nice music, relax in the leather seats with the missus beside me and enjoy one of the great street driven cars available today.
Bikes and cars have two different purposes, it's comparing apples with oranges, so we'll just leave the car/bike debate here OK?
