Brake pads
Can you get good pads for the front of a GPX600R? I wanted to get Goodridge RGH or similar, but cannot find a model listing anywhere on any of the main sites. Powercycle said they had some Ferodo sintered things when I rang them, but I am unsure how good they would be. If I have to spend money I may as well get good pads.

Hemi I just had a scan through the EBC site, and the GPX wasn't listed 
I bet they will be listed as a 'compatible' pad for another model, Kawasaki do this quite a bit with calipers used between different models etc.
What year model GPX ??

Wow that is cheap Tbone. I do not suppose you can get any sportier pads? Anyway, I haven't priced OEM reps yet, but that does sound cheap when compared to the only aftermarket ones I can find ATM (till everyone opens up after Xmas anyway) are like $49 each, and they are Ferodo. I do not expect Ferodo to be anywhere near as good as the EBC/SBS or Goodridge pads.
So, can you get anything else, or just the one model, and can I ask what brand they are? (not that it matters much with OEM type pads I guess.) And also how quick can you ship them off?

I can get pads for %99 of bikes sold here in Australia and some gray imports...
I have some pads in stock but... When I put in an order I have the pads within 48 hours and if I'm posting them out I do it theasme day I recive them... so If you pay for express post you can have them next day!!
I'm working on a good and realiable supply of sintered pads as well so soon I hope I will have them in stock...
All OEM replacement pads are about thesame... defenately better than the OEM so it does not metter who is the manufacturer... Ferodo, EBC, SBS and Goodridge all have to comply to minimum standards... The ones I can get are MetalGear and they are THE pads that %90 of Australian bike shops use when you get your bike serviced and don't ask specificaly for a brand name pads to be used...

So how long do you think it will be till you know if you can get sintered pads? It's just that I really want to put something a little softer into it, so it stops harder at the track etc. and also so it looks after the already borderline discs a bit more.

I do belive Sintered will chew up your disks quicker than the "green" or organic pads... simply as they are desidned to be used on Steel disks and not stainless steel... if you want more stoping power change over to racing disks (also known as Full floating) and make sure they are made out of steel...
I have been informed that Sintered pads will be avalable for some Kawasaki models in January/Feburary...

am guessing but aren't the pads the same as the GPx7fidy..???
I have been using SBS or EBC (good for road and track!)
and have to report...
am up for another set on the front on mine!
wore them out today doing Mt Donna Buang and part of Reefton today
will quiz BKwaka in the morning...and let you know!

yep they are same according to my catalog...

That is what I have been told... I also read once some general info on maching the disk materials to the pad materials... from memory least wear you get is form OEM pads (and OEM replacements which are metal based) used on OEM Disks... it is when you start changing compounds of the pads and disks (basicaly miss meching) you get exesive wear... of eather the disk or the pad...
I'll try and dig out the info...

in that case there are a very fiew bikes (and as far as i know most of them Kawasaki) that can use sintered pads....
