If Your real keen you can replace the rear sub frame for the seat on the 02' 03' 9 from an earlier model .... Was thinking about in order to get the grab rails as on the earlier models. It also lowers seat ht which was a consideration in my case.

What the go mate? Is it too high? Uncomfortable? Or cosmetic?
If it's hieght related, they are pretty easy to cut down. Bluefly got hers done on the 7r. Ask the guys who've seen it how they think it came out?
Vic Guys, what do think? (be honest now)

It's amazing how much an inch or so makes in height. The seat looks fine
and you wouldn't pick it had been cut down. It was funny when I sat on
it, cause the bike is a lot lower than my old 7, I fell from where the
seat should have been.

Oops, guess it would help to let ya know which model. I have an 02 9 and I want to recover with the grip style material. May add a gel pad havent decided.....Height is not an issue, actually sitting a bit higher may straightne my legs a bit....

Sliding off the back Frank ? ...... Just get a veturer rack and spin it around so the bag sits over the seat. When your Bum hits the bag you'll know when to stop pulling back on the right hand grip.
And mate i could use the pieces of your legs that are too bent, just forward to me at Shortville Brisvegas .....
