Has anyone done the Postie Bike Challenge?

Post by Possum »

Fate has decided its my time to ride a red rocket.

Last Friday I was invited to say a few words for a fallen community member.
While doing this i also surprised them with an out door seat with a plaque and surprised his family with a framed certificate.
Un be known to me his wife took one look at me a burst into tears. I looked at her and my skin shivered.
This was my nurse who helped me over come a double wasp sting to my eye after I decided to take my bike round the block a week after I was released from hospital after my stroke.!

I couldn't believe she remembered me.

On top of that, the guy who was given the job of minding me that night was also a friend of the decreased.
I was chatting about my last conversation with him which was about the postie challenge. He seemed stunned and said that this was his last conversation with him too. He was telling him about this girl from Bunnings who wanted to do this ride.
So Spud (who rides a soft tail harley, but I wont hold that against him ) and I bit the bullet and made a pact to everyone there on the night, we will ride for Rotary in 2016.

So... I have a huge idea about what im in for, but wondering if anyone here has ever done it. Love to hear about it.
(And by all means anyone wanting to come along is more than welcome, just Google postie bike challenge)
My training has started..

Oh and the first thing ill be doing is painting the red rocket green.

Xxx
It all comes down to how you ride it.....

Holy shit that can't have been good though. Between Cairns and Darwin with your record you better be watching out for serious wildlife :)

Good luck with it and good on you for having a crack.
