New Guy

Post by ZZR11Chris »

Hi all my name is Chris Im new to the forum. Just picked up a D model ZZR1100. I have had two before A C Model in the early 90's and a D Model 96 brand new off the floor. Its been a few years and 5 Busa's between ZZR's but this one came up at the right price.

Chasing some stock bits mostly a stock exhaust, I have headers however its got a twin Magnum system. Im in Brisbane any leads will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome!

If you are happy with the headers then put on some chrome slip-ons for a near-stock look.

If you want fully stock type then "just" (<yes, I know) grab some ZZR1200 pipes front to back. They are much easier to fit (3 piece instead of the OE 2 piece) and the chrome cans are a bit large (and quiet) but it's oh-so-civilized!

You will want to replace the front calipers at some point - brake tech has moved on and for the otherwise all-round awesome capabilities of the ZZ11 the brakes can be found a little wanting. I went Toc 6-potters, but I've heard it said that the newer 4-pot Nissins are better.

I have a pair of ZZR1200 cans, as new, doing nothing (I use a pair of Staintunes on mine).
