Nope as Mick said, there the same. The gpx 250 is also the same..
But you should really look for a gpz500 or er500 motor to put in it.. Dunno if it fits but it's be a good conversion..

If you can get the whole thing for $500 then it'd be a steal. Think of all the spare parts! Not the damaged ones, obviously...but all the other stuff that would have survived. It wouldn't matter if there were differences in carby's and stuff either, if you can get those with it.
Personally, if an ER5 was bent out of shape and offered to me for $500, it'd be hard to pass up, especially if the engine had lower k's. Carbies and electrical bits alone would add up to more than that. I'd take it
what colour is it ? If you end up getting it there's a few bits I might be interested in throwing in some cash for. Just to make mine look a little tidier.
rear brake lever, rhs muffler, rhs mirror, rhs front indicator cover, that sorta stuff.
if you're gonna get it give me a call so I can tell you what bits I'm after and you can let me know the condition.

Not without either some serious lubricant or the involvement of a blowtorch. The EX500 motor could hardly be more different to the EX250; it's bigger in all directions.
