New and Old...ZRX entering a rebuild phase.new Gumby! Rego'd
Well,
a couple of peeps already know..... but I came to grief on the mighty Rex on Thursday.... which resulted in some pretty hefty damage to it ..... which the quick mental sums and and time required calculation..... indicated that it would be cheaper and quicker to get another bike as an interim measure............
Good thing was no real injuries other than some soreness............ my head didn't even touch the ground.........bizarre.......
so a quick look around the interwizzle led me to Fadz' Gumby...... so..... By thursday I was heading to sydney with a trailer to check it out........... I did...... and bought it...... so just under 24 hours from mangling the Rex to getting a replacement........ there was some time pressure due to work etc......... but anyway.......... got the Gumberino home, saturday, dumped the oil and filter......... thought I had some motul brake fluid floating around....... but didn't so the brakes will have to wait until tomorrow........but will change the fluid and bleed the front and rears to make sure all nice new fluids are coursing around inside it...... oh and picked up a new battery, as the storage one that Fadz had in it had died through lack of use!
So next on will be get the RWC done ASAP, Identity check by ACT RTA........ then register the bad boy............ possibly change the tyres.......as am a tad dubious about the Shonky Shinko's........

NFI Tony, I reckon it will be sometime before I even pull bits off the rex............ I am still working out what to do with it.........and I am back south in CBR.. ..... too far from the Coast!bonester wrote:Hope your crank isn't bent with a whack like that. Although this afternoon was spent pulling it apart and refitting the stock exhaust.......... to get it through the Rego and vehicle identity check down this way........... have to do the tail tomorrow, then get it in for inspections!
