ZXR750 kit camchain tension

Post by Fifer »

Me and my kit motor again - how much tension should the camchain run?? It seeeems to be very tight...has the manual adjuster...any tips on what I should be looking for when adjusting??? And if it is too tight would that contribute to general mechanical noise? How noisy in general are kit motors anyway??

And here's the instruction from the '92 racing kit manual, which you can find here if you don't already have it.

Brilliant thanks for that I have the 94 kit parts manual but it doesn't go into this detail. My cases are a J code so I believe I've got an earlier kitted motor in an M frame...a bit of a bitsa.
