Speedo calibration

Post by StuMiller »

Just looking to better understand the variance of changing the front sprocket on my bike. I've just come back from a ride and a mate asked me why I wasn't doing the speed limit. The front sprocket is -1 so can you tell me what impact this will have on the accuracy of my speedo.

Cheers.

Not sure if you know already but I have seen for sale what are called speedo healers for various model bikes that have changed the final drive gearing. I was going to get one for my 05 zx10 before I sold it. I've seen them on eBay. Not very expensive and I believe they work well. Just a thought.

Yep I put one on my roadies. With one down at the front it usually ends up about 10% out or so. So it will read 110 but your only traveling 100.

Adds 10% more KMs to your odometer as well ;)
