Hi everyone:
I am preparing my 1983 GPZ1100 A1 for sale and wanted to ask how much it might be worth. A friend of mine is interested, so I wanted to work out a fair price (for both of us).
I bought the bike in December 1995, it had been involved in an accident about 10 years earlier and had been partly fixed up by the owner, he had then gone overseas and I had bought it off his mother through a friend. I was really attracted to the bike as it only had (and still has) 13 000km on it. I bought quite a few parts and fixed the speedo and a few things and got it going, however I found the rear transmission mount was cracked, given the work involved in pulling the engine / transmission, I didn’t go any further. I was intending to still fix it up, however I know now I am never going to do anything with it, so it needs to go. A friend of mine is interested, so I need to work out a reasonable price.
Bike details:
1. 1983 GPZ1100 A1
2. Odometer 13,057km
3. Very original, has original fuel injection, endless chain, switch gear etc
4. Stored under cover in a shed since purchase (Dec 1995).
5. Bike located in Sydney
Can you advise what a reasonable price would be for the bike? Given the unique condition of the bike it is a bit hard to research a price online.
Thanks in advance,
Jason

In its current state, but given the k's (assuming its not actually 113,000k's), I'd say a couple of grand, max.

Is the crack in the engine case area at the rear mount, or the frame ? Being a local ACT bike I am happy to come around and give you an idea of how much the bike is worth based on a decent close look ?Guzzi07 wrote:...... Send me a pm if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer, however I live in the ACT, the bike is at my parents place in Sydney, otherwise I would take you up on the offer.

no probs - well the offer is there if the bike ever makes it back down to Canberra.
Lurch is pretty close with his call of a couple of G, in that condition. It would be considerably less if the cracked mount was the actual engine cases. If it was just the brackets that connect to the frame - not so bad. If it is the frame ? its really only good for wrecking.
From the look of the photos - the bike is out in semi-rural area ? If its anywhere near Bringelly, I could possibly have a look in December ?

Can you bung up a better pic of the break?

I noticed I didn't answer your original question, the crack is in the cast gearbox mount itself (the actual engine itself), an actual piece about 20-30mm long has broken away.
I did take a photo of the area, however in the bright light outside it did not show any meaningful detail. I will take another photo inside the shed this time with a flash, this weekend when I am in Sydney again.
The bike has been put up on ebay, it really needs to go as the shed will no longer be available within a couple of weeks. Although I really like the bike, I am really into Guzzis and it is unlikely I'll ever do anothing with it. I really wanted the bike to go to someone who would restore it, however it is looking more like a parts bike unfortunately.
Thanks,
Jason
