Motogp shortened.

Post by dutchy »

Phillip Island motogp shortened to 19 laps with mandatory bike swap after no more than 10 laps because of the Bridgestones. Why not do 2x sprints. Surely the tyres could hold up to a dual figure lap session, or are they really THAT shit house.

Agree with Dutchy 2 x sprint races

The track was resurfaced a long time ago, the superbikes have raced there this year, were there no Bridgestone reps present? FFS what a joke

I just figured it out, IT'S A CONSPIRACY! !! The powers that be know Lorenzo is no good at full race distance so they have split the over two bikes. All this because they don't want Marquez to win a rookie championship.

2 x sprints would be better, but then it would look like the Supers and they couldn't have that

Pretty fucked up.
And a black flag was pretty harsh. Seriously, give him a ride-through penalty to remove any possible advantage of staying out plus a bit of a smack for breaking the rules, but a black flag? Overkill IMO. I reckon they might have been a bit defensive about all the curry they were getting over the rule change!

Depends on the wording of the rules that they gave the teams, I guess

Just because he hasn't completed 11 laps, doesn't mean he's not on the 11th lap...

He and his team fucked up. He'll probably win the championship anyway, so all you guys can still celebrate

I can't find much info on the actual rules, but I think the wording would matter.
For example, the difference between "no more than 10 laps on a set of tyres" and "complete no more than 10 laps on a set of tyres" is arguable.
But from the sounds of what Honda were saying, they aren't claiming the rules were unclear or that they were within the rules, they're saying there was 'miscommunication' between the team and rider.

Bit he also has NOT completed more than 10 laps. Day you decide to clap your hands 11 times, but decide to stop when your hands are about to come together for the 11th time. Have you clapped 10 or 11 times?

If a tree falls in the woods but no one is around to hear it, will it still squash a bigfoot?

My bad, too many bourbons over a short space of time.
