Qld Gov Anti-Motorcyle Police powers - Are you against them?
Please sign if you are against the new powers that are being/have been given to Qld Police to pull over any group of 3 or more motorcyclists to search & scrutinize.

One point to rember.
Who has bought this down on our heads? The answer is simple the patch clubs. These people would not piss on me if I was on fire, because in their words "you ride Jap crap"! Now the shit has hit the fan and they want me to help, well I won't, so suck it up ladies you have bought about the problem with your bullshit so you now have solve the problem without involving other riders or groups. Remember they are the same people that threatend a 60 year old woman in Canberra a few years ago for wearing a Ulyssees patch and now expect this same woman to support them against their fight against the government. There are some who will say this affects us all, well it doesn't and in the five years ROT been going not once have we been pulled over in mass and I don't think it will happen in the future. But if it does, we will deal with it with running to others to help.
Rant over! Dutchy.

I agree with Dutchy. Cops should be given more power not less. Theirs is a pick of a job with out making t even harder for them.

I agree with Dutchy.
I got the shits the other day with all the idiots on Facebook jumping up and down trying to start a petition and claiming that they were being discriminated against, so I de-friended them all. These new laws are targeting the criminal. If you are not a criminal then you have nothing to worry about. Police have better things to do then pull over general groups of riders who are clearly not from outlaw bikie gangs. If only the average person knew what some of the members of these outlaw gangs got up too, then I'm sure they wouldn't be jumping up and down about giving Police powers to try to stop them.

I thought all that shit was already illegal. That's why they're outlaws.
Some police may have better things to do, but the sort who get anti association laws and then arrest some retard out shopping with his mates are the sort who make me afraid of laws like this.

The problem with these types of laws are not the majority of cops who are doing a difficult job well but the exceptions that use it to target ANY group of 3 MOTORCYCLISTS without cause.
This is the type of law that scares me. Not for myself, because I'll be gone before it reaches ridiculous stages, but for my kids and grand kids.
We (lawful Australians) are loosing so many rights to enable the criminals to be caught.
Just my 2c worth.

Re: Qld Gov Anti-Motorcyle Police powers - Are you against t
Well, protest rally held in Mackay attracted 130 bikes, approx 30 patched members.
Approx 30 police, uniformed & detectives.
All bikes were detained & only allowed to leave after they presented themselves in groups of 4 to the police for licence checks then Drug & Alcohol testing.
So it starts....
IMO this does affect as all, cops have more than enough powers already & scaring people into thinking they need more.
Wearing of club patches in public was banned, they don't bother enforcing it as it is easier to sit beside the road & book people for speeding & then push for more powers.
Each to their own, thats why we ride, but this year the Qld Government has bought in Aust toughest Anti-Hooning, tightened the enforcible margin for speeding & now this.
Even the "Don't Speed & you won't get booked" brigade are thinning out as they get booked for their little 3km over the limit indiscretions & reality hits home.

Re: Qld Gov Anti-Motorcyle Police powers - Are you against t
The main problem, as I see it, is the strategies that pollies come up with. You have to wonder how practical this is to implement and how effective it will be in the end. Take double demerit weekends for example, do they work? Does zero tolerance? Speed cameras? Anti hoon blah blah blah Are they something that is just the done thing in the name of safety? Sounds like a plan on the surface but just how effective is this shit or is there a better way? Is the evidence and statistics reliable or manipulated to support a pollies point of view at the time? Not sure if anyone remembers the old Bona Fide Travellers licencing laws, made us drive 25kms for a drink on a Sunday so that's what we did and yep some of us died. Poorly planned and poorly implemented.
Picture this for a minute, Cowes at GP or WSBKs with the same law, what about the Front Line Tourers (Emergency Services Bike Riders Club) going for a quick spin? Understand something needs to be done when the 1% ers impact on the public, understand cops have got a tough job, but fark me the pollies have gotta put their brain into gear before they do shit that effects us all.

Re: Qld Gov Anti-Motorcyle Police powers - Are you against t
I believe in the long run the police are not stupid and at the end of the day they know which ones to get and ones not to, but in saying that the innocent will still be targeted from time to time. I know from just listening to the scanner occasionally they are warned of a group of hells angels or who ever have left a city and are heading through their area but still 500 kms away , I bet that doesn't happen to a group of ulyss members leave a city
