Z1000 tyres

What size are the tyres for a 1977 Z1000?

A friend is rebuilding one but didn't get tyres with the wheels and is looking for a used set to roll the bike around in until its time to get fresh ones for rego.

If anyone has a set lying around or can advise what size he needs it'd e appreciated.

How soon does he need it? I have one I am going to replace but have been rooting around with other stuff lately. If he is desperate I could look at doing something but it wouldn't be for a few weeks or so.

I use Bridgestone Bt 45r tyres on my old z900 seem like a good tyre for this kind of bike.
If you order them local they will probably bend you over,i got mine from rockymouintain when I was getting some 003s for my track bike.

at the moment, I am using Dunlop TT100 GP tyres, I think its a 100 or 110 section front and a 130 section rear. These tyres are actually on a set of rims which belong to another Z1000 - Cherry. On the original H mags, I was running Pirelli Sport Demon's front and rear - these are a really good tyre for old dungers, mileage not so good but I don't ride the old bikes every day so no big issue.

The Dunlop TT100's have a real old-school look about them - the tread pattern hasn't changed since the late 60's and they almost look like 4WD tyres with the amount of tread depth

- but the compound is really sticky and its pretty easy to drag a peg on the old Zeddie with these tyres fitted.....
