'11 ZX10R fuel consumption

Post by zxsixr03 »

How thirsty are other's ZX10R, i have a funny feeling mines running to rich on the PCV, i am lucky to get a 170km per tank on a semi cruisy ride.
My ZX6R ridden at a steady pace was good for 220km or so.

Hi zx6...

No way, that is way too thirsty....!! I am getting 190 - 200k's for normal riding to work and back in traffic before the light comes on, then I know I have another 30k's or so before totally dry.. (but I have never ran it dry of course).. But on a good days ride, cruising I will get 220k's before the light comes on... So you are definitely way too rich... :D

Check the computer, it tells you your fuel consumption, just go through the modes onthe dash..

I get 200 before the reserve light and its all stock. The dash was saying 6.1L per 100. I added the Akra slip on and its down to 5.8 but I also backed of a bit. Waiting for the mid pipe to come then I will be watching it pretty tight as they say with out using a PCV it will run to lean. Yet a lot say its just fine.
Go flat out till you see God then hit the brakes.

I'm running Akra shorty + link pipe... Plus 1/5 throttle cam, gear is +2T on rear.

Yes definitely, PCV was mapped for a full system Akro so must be a massive diff in A/F ratio between stock headers and full system.

I have exactly the same problem, I have a Gen4 10 it is saying about 15.9/100 on the dash also. I have the same setup PCV, 02 Optimizer, Akra and link pipe.
I downloaded the map closest to my setup on the PCV www and it seems to be running rich as hell ! Massive popping on overrun when your about to stop, Scares the crap out of cars at the lights !!

Just got to find time to get it dyno'd was planning on heading to dynoverx,

As an idea do people would people with the same setups be interested in sharing Maps to compare the difference, it would be even interesting just to look at it in the stand-alone software to compare tunings and get rider feedback. Human Auto TUNE :)

Happy to share myn when it is done properly !!

If anyone wants my map for the 2011 onwards pm me with your email address.

this map was done by a Pro bike tuner/racer, the only improvement on it would be an ign advance module to get more on top as it flattens out but the mid range gains were impressive.

This map was tuned with an Akra shorty/link pipe and O2 in the loop, i kept the stock headers as they are considered pretty good. The bike has a Leo vince muffler on it now with a bigger bore size and made no noticeable difference in the tune but easier on the ears

Wattie and Russ have ridden it so i am sure they can input their thoughts.
