Thought I show u what's available in Malaysia... bought it in June last year, clocked up 12000kms since then, a beauty to ride and tour with; bit different from my previous ride, a gorgeous 1997 Ducati 900SS, but was not comfortable for the missus lol
Guys I am getting some sort of mild "tank slap" above 180km/h cornering? never used to do it, put new tyres and tightened the steering head. It reduced the feeling of frame twisting but still there. been told to install a steering damper from Webike....
What say u?
I would fit it with some decent aftermarket rear shocks.Try some Gazi's, they are inexpensive and work well. Often a front end like that is more to do with the rear than anything else. I never ran a damper on my S and I had the rear jacked way up and the front dropped to decrease the head angle in an attempt to make it hold a line cranked over. It worked. it did.

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

As with Marty, I have no dmaper on mine either, never had a problem apart from when the wrong oil weight was put in the forks (they put std weight stuff in but my OE forks had been revalved to run on 5wt) Once it was fixed it was no problem.
I dont have those forks on it anymore but I do have good rear shocks and it steers very nicely with no instability issues. Mine is not jacked up in the rear but the whole bike is higher then OE for more ground clearance.....seems to work OK
Thanks guys for the replies; it would make sense something is going on with the rear.. it never mishandled like that until I changed the tyres (same Michelin PP) a second time and played with the rear shocks settings. When I have the wife riding pillion, plus touring bags, no issue at all cornering. So it indicates the bike might be setup too high in the rear riding alone?
Current rear shocks are KYB with dampener/rebound 4 levels adjustment. The spring is set to 1 notch from max (6 levels) and the dampener/rebound to level 4 of max. Roads here vary from average tar sealed bitumen to plain greasy surface and uneven ground, so a challenge to find a happy medium. Average speed is around 120km/h mostly cruising
Uhm today took the DAEG for another burn; steady as a rock until 140km/h then slight wobble at 160km/h but at 180km/h damn frame has a horizontal move.... Corner at that speed and she is very unstable....
You cannot make a ZRX steer too fast with a standard shock, swingarm and forks. Even with slightly longer shocks, eccentrics flipped to the lowest position and sliding the forks up through the triple clamps, they are not unstable. I ran lower fork height, flipped eccentrics and longer length shocks with no instability issues and it held a line like a sports bike. If you keep your chain tensioned correctly, there will not be any issues with the chains chewing the swingarm. I never had any problems with mine even with everything jacked up like it was.
Check steering head bearings and tension
check engine mount bolts and swingarm pivot bolts and tension
Check rear wheel is straight and eccentrics are not misaligned
If none of these work, put some decent rear shocks on it and I bet the issue will go.
