Re: Safety Camera NSW
If your gearing is stock I doubt whether 70 or 75 indicated would get you done. Your speedos normally about 10% high. Then again they don't usually flash for no reason.
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

Safety Camera? Are you serious?suprfast06 wrote:I think I got flashed last night by a safety camera on a 70kph speed zone. I checked my speedo and was on around 70-75kph.
Noob question.. Will I get pinged and accumulate 4 demerit points and get a suspension since I'm on my L's?

Re: Safety Camera NSW
No such thing as a SAFETY CAMERA
Are you sure you saw a flash?........ I had an experience from a fixed camera, it was sunrise & I swear the area around me lit up as I went through the intersection............... Nothing came of it & I was worried for no reason

Re: Safety Camera NSW
The RTA kindly hands out a suspension on both licenses if indeed you got flashed. You cannot be suspended on one license (rider) and not on the other (driver).suprfast06 wrote:I think I got flashed last night by a safety camera on a 70kph speed zone. I checked my speedo and was on around 70-75kph.

If you have an unrestricted drivers license and get that TIN (traffic infringement notice), you have the following options.
A. Serve the suspension period, get back your full drivers license and re-do your L's on your bike license.
B. Apply for a conditional 2 point demerit drivers license applied for 1 year.
C. SDRO appplication for leniency (provided offence commited is not outside the exlcusion criteria) if you have held an unrestricted drivers license for 10 years with out loss of any demerits.
D. Challange the TIN in court.

Proof that if something is said often enough by the Authorities...such as "Safety Camera", people will actually start to believe that shit.Jonno wrote:Proof of what exactly?seiko1 wrote:Safety Camera? Are you serious?![]()

The fact that he called a revenue raising piece of shit a "Safety Camera" is "why" it's proof that it works!!!!

Just like these new "Creepers" Ad's....we do not believe that 2 or 3 klm's above the speed limit is dangerous, in fact it's laughable...
but you can bet your arse the next generation will and will therefore cop all the Totalitarian shit sweet.

Re: Safety Camera NSW
The 250R speedo has a variance of 4% downwards, dont ask me how i know.
So if your speedo is showing 75km/h, your actually doing about about 72km/h.
Question is did you back off once you noticed the flash then looked at your speedo as one would normally do unconsiously or go for glory.
Saftey camera wont flash for 1-2km/h over, they also have a variance knowing the differeing variances on OEM vehicle speedo's.

Re: Safety Camera NSW
You dont get the suspension straight up.
You get the TIN, once paid; they'll send you a notice of suspension.
