Recovering a stolen bike.
http://www.motorbikethieves.com/
Appears like a well planned theft, unfortunately for them it was captured on cctv.
Break steering lock, hotwire & go; no immobiliser on the 675R?
Seems like an all too easy theft.

I don't know about well planned. They look more like shit-bag druggies than professionals to me. A pro would have had the thing within minutes, not an hour and sadly, it doesn't matter if you have an immobiliser as they can bypass it. The sad reality is that it is way too easy to do and get away with and the punishments are negligible even if you are caught.

All that needed was Benny Hill music and a few titty girls.

You would hope that an immobiliser would be a tad harder to bypass than a simple 80's style "hot wire".Nelso wrote:it doesn't matter if you have an immobiliser as they can bypass it.
At the end the day insurance is your safest measure.

I found this an interesting read and it backs up billydakid's method of protection as the most feared.
