Re: Any tips?
Just go in and tell them you're leaving straight up. They'll ask why. You'll say "the money's not enough".
You'll get your pay rise..... or be looking for another job.

Not sure what you do but you could tell them that you have been offered better money elsewhere but if they are happy to give you a bit extra you would rather stay committed to them than someone else, then hope that they like you enough to say ok and dont tell you to fuck off elsewhere.Good luck

Re: Any tips?
Are you consistently exceeding expecatations? are you meeting your objectives consistently? Are you achieving your KPI's each review period? Are you taking on additional tasks which demonstrate your committment and ability to . If the answer to these questions is yes, then just present that to them. If the answer is no, then start looking elsewhere for a higher paying job.

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me" Hunter S. Thompson.
There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

Re: Any tips?
Never say I am leaving for more money, if they are like me and our management we will in most cases say thanks very much. Even if you are worth more you present a win lose argument that isn't worth the risk.
If you want a pay rise be honest and demonstrate why you believe you deserve more not just ask for it. Put yourself in the persons' shoes and see it from what their position. At the same time ask yourself questions you think they would ask, a well prepared answer always works best.
Don't be disappointed or angry if they say know, if you believe you can do better you should look elsewhere, there is nothing wrong with that

Apologies Possum it was meant in jest. I joke with my wife who has a uni degree (I don't) that the dumb one earns the coin (me) so who is the smart one then? Well the smart one once retorted you should have married someone who could earn more than you so who is the smart one? Don't you have when women are smarter than you. (It happens a lot to me)

Re: Any tips?
I agree with Marty. In my experience I have tried the first half of his response only to be told that they're paying me the best they can. I then end up looking for something else.
I have realized that the best way to get a pay rise is to find another job, possibly a competitor and leave on amicable terms. Works always.

Re: Any tips?
If you say you are quitting as it doesn't pay enough.. there is no incentive for them to increase the pay.. as the time will come again where 'enough' still isn't enough.
I go with being honest and open.... if they can do it they will offer you payrise.. if not at least youve been honest if you end up leaving
