Re: Back protector
I like Dainese. Not cheap but like any gear you get what you pay for. My last one lasted >10 years and it's still going. There are plenty of other options though
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

Re: Back protector
I'm with Glen on this one. I got a Dainese Air Wave Grade 2 certified back protector. It sits pretty comfortably under my Alpinestars gear and isn't too restrictive.
There are two grades when it comes to Back Protectors. Grade 1 and 2. All protectors are marked with a tiny 1 or 2 written on the label. Grade 2s are the highest protection you can buy. Well worth it considering it protects the spinal cord

Re: Back protector
Mmm that make's it hard, as its one of those things u need to try on under ur jacket/ leather's to get the feel.sillywilly wrote:Only 1 shop in albury
It depends on how quick u want one, because i gather with one shop, they prob dont have a big range, and prob charge more as well.
Do u get to melbourne? or is it worth the trip? as u will get a large range of choices here and will be a lot cheaper. allso places like AMX are open all weekend, even sunday's all day.

Re: Back protector
MUST try the protector on under your existing riding gear, AND make sure it's comfortable and doesn't restrict you in any way. I had the $120 Rjays one on when I had my accident and the Emergency staff just couldn't believe that I hadn't sustained any sort of spinal injuries.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left. Phil

Re: Back protector
what ive found with AMX is that if u find a site that has the same product, they will match it for price, even ebay sites, they will check the buy now price, and match it, and they are stocking better gear now.z900/zx9 wrote:I got mine from Amx in boronia and yep you really need to try one before you buy it
They do have the dainese wave protector's
So its good to see some shop's fighting back against the O/S sites.

Re: Back protector
I'm another with the Dainese Airwave and it handled my recent backslam very well, but as others have said, the most important thing to consider is how it fits you. My wife still prefers to use her twenty year old back protector rather than her new one because it fits and feels better.
