G'day folks,
The other day riding to work in the belting down rain I noticed for the first time the FI warning light came on, it ended up happening 3 or 4 times ONLY when coming to a stop, it would stay on for about 3-4 seconds then go out. On the ride home it didn't happen once, that was Thursday, now when riding to the bike show yesterday nothing BUT when riding home almost home and there ya go FI light comes on again for 5 seconds , again ONLY when almost at a stop, never whilst riding. What could cause this??? And likelihood of major problems down the track??

2005 ZX636R FI light
Mine came on this week as well for the first time ever. Apparently it's the exhaust servo motor, or the sensor which checks it's working, failing to some degree. nothing to worry about. Have you got the stock can on?

Apparently the guy I bought it off said the previous owner to him , "cleaned out" the inner workings of the under seat muffler, but is still the factory original, just not too sure what "cleaned out" inner workings means?? not sure if that could have something to do with it or not. Strange, lovely weather today and the light didn't come one once??

I may be wrong, but to my knowledge the FI light can come on for numerous reasons (Fault Indicator) and the period it stays on for and frequency can be used to help diagnose the problem - might pay to take it to your kwaka dealer and have them plug it in to the diagnostic machine, will cost about $50 I think!
