Sump
I think I may have stripped the sump plug on my zx9r track bike
Silly me used a big long wrench and Ive turned the sump plug the wrong way a few times.
It had some resistance behind it. I realised what I was doing and turned it the other way.
Im thinking helicoil it for a temporary fix and then look for a new sump.
Unfortunately Im tool-less. Does anyone know of any good mechanics in the hornsby area?
Allfixed is on holidays as of today

Re: Sump
Helicoils or recoils are fine, stronger than the alloy std thread.
You will need to drop the sump though as you have to drill it out and you don't want all the crap in there.
Its about $50 for a M12 recoil kit....
I have one, if you wanna bring the sump over...

Sounds good. Will I need a new gasket?

Re: Sump
Take the sump off and take it to Dave's for a helicoiling, though another (stronger) option is timeserts, they are also slightly better for holes that go all the way through. Last resort is brazing the aluminium.
