Here is 2 tyres that i recommend dunlop roadsmart and metzler M5.The metzler feels easier to tip in on my zx9 but saying that i still have not found out what milage i will get from them. The roadsmarts i get about 8000 ks on the rear and about 6500 on the front.Keep in mind most of my riding is done in the twisties at a fair pace. There are quite a few guys here running the M5s on zrx1200 and there pretty happy with them

probably not mate - nobody here I know, still runs a 200 rear on the 12's anymore. 190's give you better tip-in, and you can use the whole tyre.

PilotRoad 3 is pretty close to the old HPX - check with your tyre bloke to confirm. These are good tyres.

I know a few people running a Battleaxe 021 apparently a good blend of grip vs life. Guy i ride with has a buell with 120rwhp/120tq and gets 1500kms from any soft compound tyre (003, 2ct etc) went to a 021 on the rear and gets 8000km's he was stoked with that he did say its a little less grippy but you gotta be going for it.

Also cheap tyres from here http://www.jakewilson.com/categoryDetai ... ebCatId=57

Agree on the 190 also more common cheaper and while feel better tipping in.

i use road 2s on my 12 i find them quite good in the Nth QLD wet and price was reasonable also 190 rides better and is more available due to most other bikes using that size

Power Pure 190/50. Lighter too, very noticeable as it's all rotating mass.
Next tyre change I'll be going to 190/55.

ive just recently gone to the bt 16 rear from the 200 feels alot nicer in the corners and now i dont have a 5mm wide strip around my rear tyre

ive heard a few people saying theyre looking at doing a 200x55 rear would be interested in trying that out

i put a set of michelin road 3's on my loan zx12, i have to say i am impressed with how they are on the big zed, cranked right over, knee on the asphalt, tyres never wanted to go anywhere else through corners, feedback and high speed stability is very nice too. go the 190 rear though, will make it easier to tip in.
