ZXR H1 muffler question

Post by netbikes »

Hey guys, I am still on the look out for a stock muffler for my 750 H1, does anyone have one still fitted to their bike or unused in the garage, I would like to know what the number is stamped on one. The muffler on my bike is Kawa but not sure if for the h1, the number on it is KHI K 285. This will help me id any good used ones I may come across, I don't need the kawasaki part number as I have that.

thanks.
cheers.....

thanks mate, now to find one. Actually a bit disappointing that Kawasaki, and other makes don't supply replacement parts, even if you had to back order. Personally I think it shows neglect toward their customers.

I cant even get a bloody radiator hose!

My factory muffler has cracked where the mid pipe bolts on. I will try get a replacement mount made up so I can put it back on the bike. Its not happy without the factory pipe at all.

yes pretty poor, I was able to get the small one here, have you tried Bob at team moto, email the part numbers to Bob, kbparts@teammoto.com.au

I want to get the band that runs along the top of the fairing screen too, not available either, have to make something up, I think it was clear.

Yeah I got the small hose, no worries, the big one which runs to the pipe just above the headers is the one that cops the abuse from the heat, and is also the one which money cant buy!

I have emails team moto, I hope they can help out.

Not sure about the strip on the top of the screen, to be honest I dont think I have ever seen one except in the parts manual.

Hows your bike coming along?

I am going to Moss St today which is a street full of bike shops and all manner of auto shops, I'll ask at the radiator shop if they can mould hoses. If they can I can take mine to them and get copies.

My bike is basically done, just stickers, I am going away this Saturday for a week and on return I will register it.

Here is a movie and you can see all the pics and blurb at http://auction.netbikes.com.au/vjmw.php ... =zxr750_h1

I emailed teammoto, the ducts and the hose are no longer available. Surprise surprise!

I have seen Samco hose kits on Ebay, I would rather original but I will probably order them, they take 5 weeks to make aparently.
The bike is running fine anyway, its just that top hose is looking a little bloated, so with summer coming up, I want to replace it before I break it.

Did you end up going with the probolt kit? I notice on your site you mention all new fairing fittings from Kawasaki, were you able to buy these freely? i want to do the same for mine.

This weekend im hoping for a chance to strip the bike down and clean it.

yes I got the pro bolt kit, it is quite good. I got almost all of the rubbers from Kawasaki, they didn't have the ones for under the tank, part number 92160-1128 , I'll do some more searching on the net for those. In reality though you can most likely get a lot of them from Clark Rubber and a lot cheaper. I think I spent almost $300 on rubber bits.

just to say I found those tank rubbers in ebay, they are expensive at $20 ea but I bought 2 anyway. I see them listed on other sites but mostly they don't have them in stock and order from kawasaki and a lot of times they don't get them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0442053027
there are two left.
