I'm getting some clutch shudder which seems to be getting progressively worse (i.e. i'll start off the line and start going forward then get a feeling like the bike is part rattle gun and a lack of forward drive while it's carrying on, then proceeds as-normal afterwards). I replaced the clutch springs and plates, however i went back to the original springs as the new ones were just a little too firm and i was having a hard time getting enough slip on the plates with the new ones.
I've noticed some slight markings on the inner basket like there's been spring/centre post wear (see the top right in this pic), but am unsure of the springs could be catching on it and failing to release. I see my two options as 1) take to it with a small file and smoothen it out, 2) replace the basket inner. Is this the likely cause of the symptoms i am seeing? and if so is smoothening it out enough of a fix (even in the short term to get me by for a few thou km till i get a basket cheaply), or should i just go ahead with replacing the basket inner and forget about the short term fix?
[edit]and yes i know i need to smoothen out the catch point where the clutchplates are touching the outer basket as well, the wear marks are only about 0.1mm deep, if that.[/edit]

Re: Clutch shudder
Can't hurt to get them smooth as the new cluch plate may have a sharper edge thats now catching on the edges of those wear marks.
I love my new ZX10. It scares the shit out of me.
