Newbie question - wet weather racing gear

Post by Mojo67 »

Newbie question time.

OJ's white rain suit set the cogs in motion. I was wondering what the go is with racing leathers in the wet. I presume he wore it to keep water out of his leathers, but most riders didn't have the suit, including Rossi. Do they put some sort of sealant on the leathers? What about gloves? (I noticed Rossi had rubber gloves under his leather gloves)

I'm also a bit surprised they were complaining so much about misting of the visors. I would have thought a bit of high tech should be able to keep enough air pushing across the inside of the visor to keep it fairly clear? :?
Cheers

Dave8 you need to ride in the rain more mate, Its bloody impossible to keep a visor dry n fog free in my experience, as for the wet leather overalls its a matter of personal preference i believe. Either way at those speeds your gonna get wet Cods imho.

If i'm wearing my leathers and there's the chance of rain, I'll pack my wet weather overalls. If it starts raining I'll slip the overalls on over the top of the leathers.
