New Owner/Rider/Bike ... yay ! =)

Hello All,

I am a proud Kawasaki Owner.

Just picked up my new Ninja 250r in black.. and I have been riding for a month and LOVE it

I have a few noobie questions, lol sorry... Just recently got my bike and im learning on the roads everyday..

1. - When breaking, which one is the right way? use front and rear? and when?

2. - How do you reverse? or do you think ahead and park your bike head up from the slope?

3. - How hard is it to change the stock exhaust to a Yoshimura slip on?

Thanks so much guys, I didn't mention that I got my L's last year and due to personal reasons I just started riding now. =)

Howdy

1. Use front and rear. Front is the Primary braking tool. rear is more for stabilising or just washing a little bit of speed off in a corner. Your rear brake wont feel like its doing much at all.

2. you sit on the bike and pull it backwards. or stand next to it and pull it backwards. But yes, forward thinking is the best way to go

3. Piss easy. if you can change a tyre on a car. you will be able to change a slip on exhaust. Its 1 bolt and 1 clamp and its slips on/off.

Most here will say dont bother with the exhaust, it wont make much performance difference. just makes more noise which will attract generally negative attention.
BBut if you want to make some noise, go nuts and chuck a pipe on

Welcome Michael!

Seeing as tho it's been a while since you learnt once you're getting up to scratch would be a good idea to book your p's test in. That way you can hit the instructor up to show you any other things you're not sure of.

Hmmm what other questions might you have:

- bike's don't have an ACTUAL reserve tank, it's just a lower fuel line in the main tank
- take it easy on new brand new tyres they don't stick, but once they're not new, they'll stick a lot more than you can imagine

Would like the slip on for the looks and sound, gives it abit more grunt

haha but would the full exhuast be hard to install too?

Do you know where to get the exhuast from? I can only source ebay US.

Full exhaust is a little harder, but do you really need the extra half horsepower it will get you? save ya $$

I had a 3 and a bit month gap between getting my Ls and riding cos I didn't have a bike when I got my Ls then I got a bike that was unregoed then it sat around a cpl months before I got it regoed

Ls last for a year before they run out so just get used to riding n stuff before ya go for ya Ps.. leave a window of a cpl weeks if ya getting close so if ya need to re do the Ps stuff ya wont have to go thru the hassle of doing the Ls course again

You can get away with using just the front for normal stopping. The rear needs a bit of finesse. Its easy to lock it up.
The rear is good for slow riding especially if the front wheels are turned a bit.
