On Thursday, 9th June, many of the friends of the late Kenny Blake will be gathering at a hotel in Melbourne to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of Australian road racing legend, Kenny Blake. Kenny lost his life during the Senior TT at the Isle of Man on this day in 1981. A noted Kawasaki (as well as other brands) rider, Ken is best remembered for his exploits during the Castrol Six Hour production race at Amaroo Park, especially the 1973 race which he won, RIDING SOLO for the whole six hours, on a Kawasaki Z1
Friends of Kenny always gather at the hotel on the corner of Elgin and Lygon Streets in Carlton to have a drink, chat and remember Kenny. I'm hoping to be there this year and you can read more about this guy who was not only one of the greatest riders this country has ever produced, but also one of the nicest men you could ever hope to meet.
