2007 ZX6 query

Post by StuMiller »

I'm trying to organise some insurance on line with Insure My Ride for my 2007 ZX6.

The options it gives you when selecting the bike are "2007 KAWASAKI ZX6R ZX636 NINJA C6F SPORTS 636 CC".

I have checked the complinace plate in the frame and the model and build date is 01/07 ZX600P.

My question is what is the engine capacity of this machine?

Is it 599cc or 636cc? :?

the 2007 was not a 636.

Dont be to concerned with everything else but make sure you get that part right.

Capacity is 599 or 598 I believe

It doesn't give me an option to have a 599 capacity.....only 636.

If something happens, I know this will be a sticking point for any payouts.......!

Just spoke to them. They said to select the 2007 model. I DID!

She was adamant the 2007 was a 636cc. I told her she was wrong and it's a 599cc. The 2006 was a 636 .

Then she went on to tell me the 2008 was the first model with a 599cc engine.......

I said if I buy insurance from them and need to make a claim, being the ever trusting and forgiving business they are, they'll still pay out. NOT!

Anyway, we agreed that if I select the 636cc, she will note on my policy that my bike is a 599cc.

Should there be a premuim reduction give the engine size is smalled than a 636?

From memory I think AAMI have the same, and maybe the NSW green slip quoting website also, industry-wide issue maybe.

a few things i have looked at (insurance, parts, etc.) they have had the option for a 2007 636. i found it funny as 2006 was the last of the 636's but maybe the americans are just that slow they got the 2006 zx6 as their 2007 models? either way it makes it difficult when the person on the other end actually doesnt have a clue about bikes andthat the computer saysthat so it must be right!!!
