Kawasaki 1980 ZIR MK2

Post by Roccoone »

I have had this bike since new. It has 64870 k's on the clock. The problem is it's been sitting doing nothing for the past 10 years, and has not been started in that time. It's all original, apart from rear shocks and pipes. So it's going to need some work.
This is the first time on the market. I'm just wanting some feedback and offers I guess. Thanks for your time.

For those that may be interested in what happened to this bike....here is a quick pictorial rundown.

Some of you guys would have seen this thread on other forums.

This bike has had 1 previous owner and hasn't been running for ten years.

Bike arrived 20-06-11 courtesy of bikes only transport.

Image

As it was when it arrived...

Image

A quick wash revealed its potential.

Image

Image

The motor has had the top end rebuilt, and the carbs have been cleaned and new kits put through them.

Image

Image
Image

After completely stripping the bike...had the frame and associated bits powder coated.

Image

Image

Brake calipers painted with new kits fitted, both master cylinders have new kits as well.

Image

Shinny bits after a polish...

Image

Image
Image

Pipes sand blasted and painted.....

Image

Going back together...

Image

Not even 2 months down the track...this is were I'm at...in fact hoping to fire it up next week after the dyna coils arrive.

Image

The only thing thats holding me up at the moment is the tins haven't been painted yet "this is what happens when you rely on others"

A big thanks to Gos for his help with this project... :kuda:

Thanks for your appreciation of what I've done all. :kuda:

This has been a labor of luv for me, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience.

This is the best way to get to know your bike and what its all about.

By the way...I'm no mechanical genius by any means, and don't have a flash workshop with all the bells and whistles.
It just goes to show what you can achieve with a bit of commonsense determination and patients.

Cheers...Dave :D
