A couple of questions....

Post by StuMiller »

1. Who owns/rides a 2007 ZX6. I'm looking at buying one. Are there anythings I should be be wary of?
2. Where can I buy a head gasket for a 1999 ZX6. Can you recommend any suppliers who are supporters of this forum. How hard are they to change.

Cheers!

07 zx6's at some build dates had a recall to rebuild motors, have heard of one outside the build recall dates munching itself. Check the recall and see if the work was done. I had one that was rebuilt and no problems after that. But other than that theyre ok

as for gasket sorry no help 8)

as Firey said re the main issue to watch out for.

for a head Gasket call John at Mornington Kawasaki. They are a site sponsor down that way and will ship it to your door.

Have a look HERE.
Dunno if you can get it cheaper from the mob Blurr mentioned, but at least you'll have the part number.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Our tracky was an 08 and dropped a valve at 3,000klm's. In hindsight we should have got the valves checked each year (for worn buckets) but on the road they should be fine at longer intervals.
