Radiator Guards

Post by Glen »

Ive just shot an email enquiry off to a mob called Mikes Grilles in the UK who make a fairly good looking Gold anodised radiator guard. Price will equate to about 42STG or $105 AUD.

http://www.mikesgrilles.com

I'll let you know how I go.

A couple of emails back and forth last night and I've ordered the thing. Total cost incl freight and everything was $109AUD. I've also pinched the 50% discount offer, provided I send a useable photo when it's installed.

He shot me back an email to say he'd received the payment and that I should get it in 6-8 days.

Once I've got it I'll post the photo's so you can see what they're like. I mentioned the KSRC site and he's had a look but didn't touch on the concept of discounts.

$109 sounds a bit of alrighty :D i was thinking of using some coarse metal flyscreen or something but that looks pretty blingy for the money :D very keen to see what the quality is like, i dont know if i want to leave a radiator as big as what i have on the ZXR completely unprotected....

Radiator guard for the ZX10 turned up yesterday.

It looks good and it's fairly light which is probably not a bad thing. I haven't seen a Radguard up close so not sure how it compares. The mesh is a fairly light guage so it curves around the radiator very well. Should be sufficent to stop most impacts I think.

Installation is easy with nothing requiring removal.

You get some lock wire to tie it on to the radiator which I havent done as yet but will do on the weekend. It's fairly flexible so at the moment its just sitting inside the radiator frame.

Total cost was $109AUD, turned up when promised and very easy to deal with.

Last update on the Radiator Grille story.

Finally got off my arse and sent the photo's to Mike in the UK. Hey presto got my 50% discount back within a day via Paypal. The 50% didn't include freight etc so ended up getting $40 back.

I can highly recommend this bloke if your looking for an inexpensive alternative.
