gt550 carbs, diaphragms or links needed

Post by metaltriumph »

Hi Guys - doing up a GT550 with a mate and his carb vacuum diaphragms are shot.

Anybody know where i could order some diaphragms? or Any body know what other model carbs would fit?

The GT550 looks to have the same engines as the z550, and 650 from the looks of it. maybe some GPZ carbs would work?

i have tried the usual suspects - zpower, z1 - no luck.

Ebay have 2 sellers selling 1 diapphragm each and the cost is enormous.

Depends which carb you have- TK or Keihin. Early GTs have TK, late Keihins. There is a pommy mob you can get them from and they are exxy. I have spare carbs of both types, but all diaphrams are shot. 550 Zephyr I think runs the Keihins which should fit.

Try this mob:

GT still is my fave bike in my collection. ZRX is catching up though. :D

Bogan got some diaphragms for his GPz600R from a pommie mob on ebay, they were like $15 each ?? Cheap as buggery....

good luck with the hunt for these mate, I would change the carbs to early 24mm z650 carbies, no diaphragms = no problems....

Just got a set of replacement diaphragms for the Mikuni carbs on my GT750 from JBM Industries. About $100 including post from the States. Easy as to fit and runs great.
