2011 ninja 250 performance tweaks...?
2011 ninja 250 performance tweaks...?
Hey all... How r ya all?
Just wondering if I could get some advice/opinions from people....
I have heard that the later model ninja 250's are down-tuned in order to pull better fuel economy... I was wondering if there would be an easy way to go back the other way and tune it back up for performance...?
My next question is..... Would there be much point in me spending $$ on performance upgrades such as carby jets or anything else that is able to be done to it??
And my final question is what options are available in terms of power/performance tweaks/upgrades are available for a 250 ninja....?
Cheers guys... (and girls =P)
Ben

Having just had the benefit of riding Vivek's ninja 250 and having ridden many ZZR250's, my suggestion is to leave it alone. The power is delivered on the ninja much better than the ZZR. The ZZR motor happens from 10-14. Whereas, the Ninjas is delivered mostly around 7-11. Right at the best part of the power curve. Best performance gain on a ninja is the rider.

Point taken... A good idea for me to work on my skill and bike control before throwing $$ at it to squeeze better performance out of it... Gotta love how flickable the thing is!!!Strika wrote:Having just had the benefit of riding Vivek's ninja 250 and having ridden many ZZR250's, my suggestion is to leave it alone. Moving on a step further from this, is there any point spending $$$ improving a bike which is likely only going to be a short term steed. Most riders get off restrictions and buy something bigger; go faster mods do not improve resale value. Save the $$ for your next bike.theanimal wrote:Point taken... Mike I think its all about "living in the moment" seems if you got the $$$ then it will get spent on the current ride be it a postie bike or a ZX14

Yep never seen the need to spend to much on a 2 fiddy unless u are going to do a bit of track work......great to get on 1 to learn for a good 12 months and then spend the dosh on sumthing bigger which u can get more out.....only so much u can get outa a 2fiddy....wat are they stock?......28BHP? could maybe be looking at 40-45BHP after some big mods and sum big cash and a stock ZX6r its round 95-100BHP and same mods to that from the 2 fiddy can push it even higher....

The only mod i'd consider for a 250 is a new pipe. Looks better, a slight power bump down low and now people can actually hear you coming. Other than that spend the cash on good gear and training

Re: 2011 ninja 250 performance tweaks...?
I modded my 250.....love it!
But it made alot more sense when 250 green slips were cheaper than 600's
Now "they've" gone and made me want to put a KX450 in mine....it's the only logical solution
